Sutherland Early Learning Childcare Centre is located in the Grand Boulevard area of North Vancouver. Our rooms are well lit with an abundance of windows and overlook our playground. Each class is staffed at a ratio of 1:8, with a maximum of 24 children. Our staff are experienced teachers who are committed to loving and respecting each child.
Each class consists of periods of free play, a short structured circle time, clean up/ bathroom routine, brief bible story and grace, snack and outdoor/large muscle play. An indoor auditorium is available for active play on rainy days. During the year we also include other events in our program such as field trips, special visitors, cooking, theme days, etc.

- Special activities such as Christmas parties, parent appreciation tea, art show, theme related parties, special guest features
- School closures are the same as the public school system – Christmas, Spring break and summer months – no pro D days.
Full Day Sessions:
The children who come full days will participate in our preschool type program when the half day children arrive. During the mid-day break the children will enjoy the lunches they have brought from home, listen to stories and music, and have a quiet rest time. Children who need to sleep can do so. At the end of the afternoon “preschool” component they will have the opportunity to participate in quiet activities in preparation for going home. We find the flow of the day moves very smoothly for the full day children who enjoy having the variety of new playmates in their day. The morning and afternoon circle times are conducted by different teachers so the children experience variety in this area as well.
